If they’re going to be charging $9.99 for a book that you can buy off the shelf for $7.99, what’s the point in buying the Kindle? If you’re going to make electronic versions work, you have to make them cheaper and with no DRM involved, otherwise it’s a pointless exercise. If you can buy a regular manga for $8.99 and they want to charge, for example, $9.99 and you still can’t do much with it but read it on one device, you can’t sell it, etc. then it makes no sense not to buy the physical manga in the first place.

The music industry is finally figuring it out, why can’t electronic publishers?

Their reader was IE-only when they launched, but they improved it after only six months or so, and I have no problem reading their comics with my Safari browser.
