The signs have been there that borders was in trouble for almost 3 years, but they continued to rely heavily on them. It’s the same mentality that keeps throwing all their resources in that stupid Princess Ai franchise, they simply don’t want to admit they got it wrong.

So far tokyopop have blamed everyone from Borders, to fans, to diamond, to scanlators. Personally i think it’s just a matter of time before they end up collapsing, which will be a shame since one of my favourit series (Aria) is with them.

Aria could have turned them around and become the next Fruits Basket, but sadly they couldn’t do it right and started messing around with it’s releases. Ended up with no one buying it.

Hopefully someone will save some titles from them
