@Kimi – You know, I thought I remembered hearing that, but I couldn’t find anything on the web, and the eManga FAQ still says rent for 72hours/rent permanently, so I just went with that. If it’s buy the first time, then eManga is the best deal, though it remains contingent on DMP and eManga staying in business. eManga goes down, and there goes all your manga.

@Heather – From everything I’ve seen, I don’t see the Kindle as a manga reader. Only using the Kindle app on other devices has seemed to work for it. But since Amazon was mainly a book seller, platform didn’t matter. For a portable device, I’m leaning toward the Nook Color myself, but I’m not ready to commit just yet. The web has done fairly well for me.

Thanks Lori. This is the info I needed. I got a Kindle for xmas and it has only been helpful for reading books. The manga I have tried to read on it has been terrible, so I just gave up on that front. I have really enjoyed reading VIZ and Yen Press website manga online and it seems like the iPad is very similar.
