That honor goes to shows like Minky Momo and Creamy Mami and Magical Emi, shows that actually defined the genre. Sailor Moon is just a show that came along later and used the same established elements. Just because a show is old doesn’t make it a classic. No matter how old it gets, some shows just don’t qualify because they brought nothing new to the genre.

Come on, in 20 years are some of the really awful shows on today going to be “classics” just because they’re old?
