The Picks:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Justin\u2019s Pick:<\/strong> This is really a week to dig in to your favorite ongoing manga. Viz is getting a run for its money–only the likes of Kodansha could take on Viz head on the way they have (which is not to slight Yen, it\u2019s just that Yen has wrestled for market share in non-traditional ways). I say that because, as much as I like Slam Dunk<\/em> and Vampire Knight<\/em> (the stand-outs in this week\u2019s vampire glut), I have to look to Kodansha for my pick: Fairy Tail<\/em> has always been one of my guilty pleasures, but in a toss-up I\u2019m going with Negima<\/strong>–Kodansha\u2019s better translations, coupled with this series really hitting it\u2019s stride in the second three books (of which this omnibus comprises), makes it my pick of the week.<\/p>\n

Alex\u2019s Pick:<\/strong> For what it\u2019s worth, I have been really enjoying Blue Exorcist<\/strong>, which is a great shonen action story coupled with some beautiful visuals and fun action. The series plays out better than I could have ever hoped based on the first volume, and now I am clamoring for more. I\u2019m also interested in Psyren<\/em>, which is a title that\u2019s been in the wings for quite some time now.<\/p>\n

Amy\u2019s Pick:<\/strong> Lots of great titles being released this week, nice to see another volume of Blue Exorcist<\/em> but this week I\u2019m stoked for My Boyfriend is a Vampire<\/strong>. I love gender bender stories, especially when its two volumes in one!<\/p>\n

Lori\u2019s Pick:<\/strong> I look at this list and see a lot of ongoing titles that I will get, mostly from Viz, such as Bakuman<\/em> and Natsume\u2019s Book of Friends<\/em>. But Seven Seas gets my pick this week. Dracula Everlasting<\/strong> is being put up one page at a time three times a week at Zoom Comics, but I don\u2019t have the patience. It\u2019s an interesting premise and the art has been nice and clean so far. Maybe I\u2019ll get the digital version and read it on my Iconia tablet!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
