The beginning of a new month usually means a depletion of the wallet as so many new titles come out. Viz has the longest list as usual, with their shonen and shojo releases, including the soon-to-end Shonen Jump<\/em> magazine. Kodansha isn\u2019t doing so bad, as it fills in Del Rey\u2019s spot very easily and debuts another old title with an omnibus and a new translation, Tokyo Mew Mew<\/em>. Veritcal releases the Usamaru Furuya adaptation of one of the all-time bestselling novel in Japan, No Longer Human<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Picks:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Johns\u2019s Pick: No Longer Human<\/strong> is the title I am looking forward to checking out this week. It is based on the dark but popular novel of the same name by Osamu Dazai, and should be a great series.<\/p>\n

Alex\u2019s Pick:<\/strong> Taking a step back to last week for a second, you all should be reading The Drops of God<\/strong> from Vertical, and you can get that wine with a side of No Longer Human<\/strong>, which is something that Ed Chavez has been hyping for a long time. I have high hopes. Viz also has Kimi ni Todoke<\/strong> and Story of Saiunkoku<\/strong> this week… looks like I\u2019m going to have to take out a loan to get all these amazing comics.<\/p>\n

Connie\u2019s Pick:<\/strong> Because I am a terrible, terrible fangirl to my core, though there are several fine volumes coming out this week (No Longer Human<\/em>! Toradora<\/em>! Dengeki Daisy<\/em>! Story of Saiunkoku<\/em>! Kizuna<\/em>!), my choice has to be the fourth volume of The Tyrant Falls in Love<\/strong>. \u00a0I fell absolutely head-over-heels in love with this series a few months ago, and I can\u2019t get enough of the cranky, hilarious main character.<\/p>\n

Lori\u2019s Pick:<\/strong> Viz is raining the awesome shojo manga on me this week with Dengeki Daisy<\/em>, Kimi ni Todoke<\/em>, and Story of Saiunkoku<\/em>. But there is one non-Viz, non-shojo title I\u2019m looking forward to this week, and it \u2018s from Kodansha; Bloody Monday<\/strong>. Even though I\u2019ve seen the j-drama, and already know pretty much what\u2019s happening, it hasn\u2019t stopped me from wanting to yell at the characters for trusting the wrong person, or getting a knot of tension in my stomach over a situation. I\u2019m not sure what\u2019s worse, knowing, or not knowing. I still enjoy it though and can’t wait to read volume 2.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
