Contest: Win a Set of Color of Earth, Water and Heaven

December 11, 2009

Color of EarthHey!  I’m holding my first contest!  Thanks to First Second Books and Good Comics for Kids, I’ll be giving away one set of this manhwa series.  To enter is simple.  Just leave a comment on this post telling me what you like to read, or read more of, on the blog; manga news, reviews, commentary/rants, e-book and digital technology reviews, etc.  I’m looking for feedback so I can improve the site however you, the readers, would like.  And you’ll get rewarded with a set of manhwa!  Winner will be drawn randomly by my very random daughter Krissy.  Deadline is next Friday.  Good Luck!

I would like to see some more recent manga since I have noticed that you seem to like stuff you would never find at a book store, not that I’m saying it’s bad just I have been getting into some newer series now and it’d be col if you did more on those.

Well, I was always a big fan of Shaenon Garrity’s Overlooked Manga Festival. So, I’d love to see your list of overlooked manga, or something similar to Danielle Leigh’s 10 Underrated Shojo Titles.

Hey, thanks for the opportunity! I’m of the opinion that one can never read or write too many reviews. I especially like the “manga to anime” feature, as well as “confessions of a mangaholic”. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work!

I mostly like the “Week in Manga” section. There are usually good links in those posts. Other than that, I really only read the reviews.

I really love the Manga Drive-by for Shonen Jump.

I buy volumes and so don’t pick up the magazine but like to see what’s going on there. 🙂

My daughter Amy is 9 years old and LOVES manga. I am American and her mother is Korean. When she grows up, Amy wants to be a manga artist like her hero Hitari Yosizumi.

We were thrilled to see that there is a Korean manga (Color of Earth, Color of Water). We took her to the ‘old country” when she was three, but she doesn’t remember as much as we would like.

ps. If you know ANYONE who has an English copy of NUI volume 2 and 3, PLEASE let me know if they would be willing to sell/loan it. You have no idea how hard I looked for that book.

Keep up the good work on age appropriate manga!

I love the reviews where you share what your children think of them. This is useful to me both as a mother of readers and as a children’s librarian. It’s a great way to decide if it’s worth tracking down a title or not. (I use Great Comics for Kids that way too, which is how I found your blog)

I would like to read more of everything and since your children are involved, what you husband thinks on manga that is about the only thing missing.
