Every week, Viz Media and the New York Times posts the top ten bestselling books. For Viz Media, it is the bestsellers on their site, Vizmanga.com. The New York Times gets their numbers of print sales from retailers. Offered here is a listing of these books with their status this week compared with the previous week, and some way-off analysis of the activity.

There is another new #1 and it belongs to Levi and his back story Attack on Titan No Regrets, the final volume. The only other Kodansha title is Attack on Titan vol 1, which has hit its 73rd week on the list. Yen Press and Viz Media fight for dominance with three each, though all the Yen Titles are in the top five, giving them the edge. Black Butler and Kingdom Hearts have big fandoms to continue to fuel their sales, but No Matter How I Look at It has its own growing as ever new volume makes the list. Seven Seas Entertainment has another potential hit with No Game No Life holding on for a second week. The new Alice in the Country of… could pretty much be taken for granted.
Nielson’s Bookscan Top 20 for the Month of October
1. Naruto Vol 67 ∗
6. Attack on Titan Vol 1 ↓ 1
10. Attack on Titan Vol 13 ↓ 8
16. Vampire Knight Vol 19 ∗
17. Attack on Titan Vol 2 ↓ 4
Bonus! The Bookscan numbers came out this week, and manga took a fall, losing three spots last month, probably to Walking Dead trades, what with it being Halloween and the show returning to air. Naruto muscles its way to the top with the newest vol 67, taking the #1 spot for itself. Attack on Titan vol 1 only falls one to #6, while vol 13 falls a further 8 spots. The final Attack on Titan, vol 2, falls 4 spots but holds on to the top 20. The only other manga property to make it was Vampire Knight with its final volume. What makes this appearance a big deal is that the final volume was a hard cover limited edition. But fans obviously couldn’t want to read that last volume.
