  8. My Hero Academia Vol 1     ↓ 5
  9. One Piece Vol 75     ↓ 5
  10. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 1: Phantom Blood Vol 3     ↓ 3

Three different titles from three different publishers debut this week. Seven Seas Entertainment’s Monster Musume Vol 7 loses its hold on the top spot, but is joined by Citrus Vol 3 coming in at #5. Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon Novel Vol 3 jumps in at #2 but it is also now the lone Yen Press title. Taking the top spot is Tokyo Ghoul Vol 2 in its print debut and joining the rest of the Viz Media titles which still hold on to the rest of the spots. Conspicuous by its absence is Attack on Titan Vol 1, a practical staple for months. But I wouldn’t count it out so quickly. A new Attack on Titan volume came out this week, so I think we will be seeing its return very soon.

  9. Attack on Titan Vol 16 Special Edition
  10. Tokyo Ghoul Vol 3     ↓ 2

All Attack on Titan disappeared from Amazon last week, but with the release of the newest vol 16, it goes for a double dose, as the regular release takes the top spot, and the Special Edition returns at #9. Tokyo Ghoul seems determined to prove it is as popular as Attack on Titan as it is gets all three of its volumes on the list, the last being a pre-order. One Punch Man and Naruto both get multiple volumes on the list, leaving only Monster Musume Vol 7 all alone and surrounded.

A new title takes over the top spot this week as The World’s Greatest Love from Viz Media’s SuBLime imprint debuts at #1. 12 Beast Vol 2 from Seven Seas Entertainment tries to make its debut higher, but can only get to the #3 spot as Tokyo Ghoul Vol 1 blocks it. Big Hero Six Vol 1 is doing well as it hits its 17 week on the list, only 90 weeks behind Attack on Titan Vol 1. Assassination Classroom Vol 1 has had its ups and downs, but it’s just hit 16 weeks on the list, making it the third oldest. Not bad for a title considered a “worst” graphic novel for kids by the ALA.

The top title doesn’t change at Amazon for the 6th week in a row as Tokyo Ghoul Vol 1 holds on tight to the top spot. The pre-order for Naruto Vol 71 holds its own at #3. The pre-order for My Hero Academia Vol 1 returns as its release date draws closer. Attack on Titan Vol 1 returns as well showing it not invincible, but more like a super ball, always bouncing back. Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past makes a big bounce down. Does it have what it takes for the bounce back up? The only new title on the list if from Yen Press with their perennial top seller Black Butler, now at Vol 20, but their other titles No Game No Life Novel Vol 2, Prison School Vol 1 and Akame ga Kill Vol 3 all show they have some life in them.

Also debuting is Pokemon Adventures Vol 29, but it doesn’t do as well, only coming in at #9. Big Hero Six Vol 1 and Noragami Vol 5 stay the course, holding fast at their respective spot while Assassination Classroom gets a double dose with Vol 4 returning while Vol 1 moves back up the list. Viz dominates the list this week with 6 of the 10 spots, but Yen Press and Kodansha have their best sellers fighting back.

There were a few returning titles as well as couple of debuts. Many of these are also pre-orders. Tokyo Ghoul , No Game No Life Novel Vol 2, Akame ga Kill Vol 3 and Prison School Vol 1 all have future release dates, with the last three scheduled for this week. 12. Attack on Titan Vol 1

Manga doubled its presence on the Bookscan for June. One title, Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past, was able to hold over dropping to #8. It also took the top spot with Naruto Vol 70 debuting at #1, and Tokyo Ghoul making the top five by debuting at #5. Attack on Titan vol 1 made a return, just missing the top ten by 2 spots. It’s good to see manga’s presence increase, something that will hopefully happen more as Barnes and Noble increases their manga shelf space.

The debut of a new Sword Art Online Progressive has sent the to the top spot. Tokyo Ghoul Vol 1 and Naruto Vol 70 stay steady at #2 and #3 respectively. The predicted fall of Big Hero Six vol 1 seemed to have been premature as the title rockets back up to take the #4 spot. Seraph of the End does well as its first volume returns while the newest volume holds steady. Assassination Classroom vol 1 also makes its return while Noragami Vol 5 falls dangerously close to falling off, stopping just short at #10. It’s interesting to see a whole new generation of titles dominating, led by Attack on Titan, after Bleach and Naruto did so for so long.

Pre-orders Prison School Vol 1 and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 1: Phantom Blood vol 3 make the list while Naruto Vol 71 falls dangerously close to dropping off. Bleach Vol 64, on the other hand, rockets up the list to land at #3. I’m happy to see shojo The Demon Prince of Momochi House Vol 1 chart this week. Shojo titles don’t make it often enough.

Seraph of the End Vol 5 debuts right behind Naruto, bringing Vol 1 back with it as well. Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past, Attack on Titan Vol 1 and Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon Vol 1 all take two steps up in their respective positions. Death Note Black Vol 1, the 2-in-1 re-release of the series makes a notable return, just cracking the top ten at #9. Viz strongly dominates this week, holding 7 spots, leaving Yen Press and Kodansha to split the last three 2-1 respectively.

Attack on Titan Vol 1 and Naruto Vol 70 merely switch places, making Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin Vol 10 the only new comer to the top 5. Junji Ito’s horror short story collection, Fragments of Horror cracks the top 10, coming in at #8, while the pre-orders for new volumes of Naruto and Attack on Titan take their place on the list. I always find it fascinating when a pre-order for a title, especially one so far into the future like Naruto Vol 71 is, appears on the list. Was the cliffhanger in Vol 70 really that good?

Viz makes a surprise return to the weekly top ten. It’s been quite a few weeks since last we saw a top ten from them. Topping their digital only list is Tokyo Ghoul Vol 2 which has gotten an early digital release, and is followed by the newest One-Punch Man Vol 7. Dragon Ball and it’s sequel/continuation series Dragon Ball Z return with both their Vol 1s charting. Also charting are two titles from their digital Select line, Girls Bravo and Grenadier, both previous Tokyopop print titles. Also coming soon is another Tokyopop Alumni, Aion, the follow-up series to Chibi Vampire by Yuna Kagesaki. I didn’t think it was as good, but that’s just me.

Naruto Vol 70 keeps its hold on the top spot, while Fairy Tail Vol 48 and Attack on Titan Vol 1 dig into their spots at #3 and #8 respectively. Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past also clings to the list at #10 for second week. The two newcomers to the list come from Viz, Deadman Wonderland Vol 9 and Kamisama Kiss Vol 18. Kamisama Kiss may be seeing a bump due to the mangaka’s scheduled appearance at Anime Expo in two weeks. Wouldn’t it be a great gift to her if this volume held on until then?

The Legend of Zelda Box Set also hold its place at #6. Attack on Titan saw a surge with Volumes 2 and 8 returning to the list. The new title to debut is Deadman Wonderland Vol 9, slipping in at #10.

The only other title to make it was also a Viz title and it at least broke the top ten with Rosario + Vampire Season II Vol 14 coming in at #9.

He’s joined by fellow Shonen Jump titles Assassination Classroom Vol 4 and Food Wars Vol 6. the only other debut title this week is from Kodansha Comics with Fairy Tail Vol 48 coming in at #3. Attack on Titan Vol 1 begins its second century on the list with a short fall, but not for long. 10. Seraph of the End Vol 1

There’s just a slight switch around in the top three titles this week. Tokyo Ghoul‘s Vol 1 print debut is this next week, and the last-minute preorders are jumping on board, pushing it back to the top spot. Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past lurks just behind, waiting for its chance to take back the top spot, while Naruto Vol 69 falls back to #3. The Legend of Zelda Box Set returns as does several other titles including Noragami Vol 1, Seraph of the End Vol 1 and Sword Art Online Aincrad Novel Vol 2. The Tokyo Ghoul Vol 2 preorder also makes a return, even though it would be seeing a print release until August. Maybe readers are adding Vol 2 to their Vol 1 orders.
