Weekly Top Ten Manga

Every week, the New York Times and Amazon posts the top ten bestselling books. The New York Times gets their numbers from print sales from retailers, while Amazon and Vizmanga.com calculates their own numbers. Once a month the Nielsen Bookscan posts their top twenty graphic novels of which manga is included. Offered here is a listing of these books with their status this week compared with the previous week, and some way-off analysis of the activity.

New York Times Bestseller List for the week ending November 28, 2015

One-Punch Man and Tokyo Ghoul completely take over the top five spots as One-Punch Man vol 1 move back to #1 and Vol 2 falls to #4. Tokyo Ghoul Vol 1 holds at #2, as does Vol 3 at #5 while Vol 2 moves up the most, 5 spots to #3. Naruto Vol 72 makes its return for its seventh cumulative week. Kodansha Comics gets two new releases on the list with Noragami Vol 8 and UQ Holder Vol 6 debuting at #6 and #9 respectively. Otherwise, this list belongs to Viz Media again.

Wow, the list is practically unchanged this week, with just a couple of titles moving around, and nothing new squeezing in. One-Punch Man Vol 1 keeps its hold on the top spot for the 4th week. It’s remainder print volumes as well as all the Tokyo Ghoul volumes line up almost neatly. Tokyo Ghoul has decided to go with odds and evens instead of sequentially. The Pokemon Adventures Red & Blue Box Set has done pretty well to keep on the list, especially with the Shonen Jump/Signature onslaught.
