The first week of 2016 starts out with a lot of old favorites and a few new ones.
Viz Media  does its monthly drop of shonen and shojo. If you like Naruto, there’s for you to partake. The final Naruto Box Set #3 comes out as well as the sequel volume Naruto: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring. If you’re still catching up, Volume 13 of the 3-in-1 is out as well. If shojo is more your style, then there is Honey So Sweet, the newest series to be released in the Shojo Beat imprint. I’m seriously  considering it since it features my favorite trope of a the delinquent with a heart of gold. For the kids and kids at heart, there is the third volume of Yo-Kai Watch. Art buffs will want to check out Art of Magic the Gathering Volume 1: Zendikar. Whether you are into the trading card game Magic the Gathering or not, the art for the cards is still something to admire.

For variety of a different sort, Kodansha Comics has several more volumes out this week, including the debut of a new series Sweetness and Lightning. It combines the slice of life story of a single dad trying to raise his young daughter, and cooking. Foodies and fans of titles like Yotsuba& should check it out. For a slice of life on the more ridiculous side, then Seven Seas Entertainments’ second volume of Merman in My Tub may just be for you.
