It seems early in the month for Yen Press to be sending out its wave of titles, but I guess with February being a short month, even with the extra day, things are still thrown off a bit. There’s a sprinkling of titles from other publishers, but this week, it’s all about Yen Press.

Diamond is a little behind with their Kodansha titles. Going out to stores this week is Noragami Stray God Volume 11 which was released to retail last week and The Wallflower Volume 35, which was released last August. I guess saying they’re a little behind might be an understatement, but it’s a good example to show how Diamond Distributors can be, and why a monopoly on distribution is never a good thing. But I won’t get into the history behind Diamond’s dominance of the direct market. Netcomics keeps the titles coming a few at a time while Seven Seas Entertainment releases Dance in the Vampire Bund II Scarlet Order Volume 4. Can they keep their trend and get this one to hit the NYT Bestseller list too?

Yen Press has quite the impressive list of titles this week, including Boy and Beast light novel from their Yen On line. It is the adaptation of the animated movie of the same name by Mamoru Hosoda, the creator of Wolf Children Ami and Yuki. If all those words on the page annoy you, there is also a manga adaptation out this week.

Debuting in print his week is Handa-Kun, the prequel series to Barakamon, that shows Handa in his high school years. Also out this week is Barakamon Volume 9, so you can double your dose of Handa. Continue to compound the laughs with new volumes of Monthly Girl’s Nozaki-kun, The Devil is a Part-Timer, and Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Or you can go for the demonic harem with the debut of Demonizer Zilch. I much prefer the comedy route personally.
