It’s a strong release list this week as Kodansha, Seven Seas, and Vertical debut new titles. Digital titles make a strong showing with Yen Press dropping several new chapters and volumes of digital only titles.

Kodansha hits it big in both print and digital. They have one new title, Persona Q Shadow of the Labyrinth Side P3. It is an adaptation of the video game of the same name and ties into Persona Q Shadow of the Labyrinth Side P4 which comes out next month. My oldest daughter is a big fan of the video games, so that’s why I’m interested in reading this. I also really liked Devil Survivor, so I’m happy to see two more volumes out now, though this does put me behind faster.

Seven Seas is debuting one new title, Tomodachi x Monster. Imagine if Pokemon weren’t the cute and friendly little creatures they are in the video games and TV series. Instead of catching and training monsters for fun and friendship, the kids of this series must enter a horrifying death match. This is not a series to be giving your preteen and tween friends and family.

What you can give them is the newest series from Vertical Comics, Fuku Fuku Kitten Tales. It is by Konami Kanata, the creator of Chi’s Sweet Home. This time, it’s an adorable kitten doing adorable kitten things with an elderly woman. Fuku Fuku was the cat series before Chi, and this series tells of Fuku Fuku’s past. We have already gotten some glimpses of this cat series in the Complete editions of Chi’s Sweet Home.

No room for print volumes? (There’s always room somewhere. Do you really need a bed?) There’s plenty out digitally. Kodansha releases the entire Air Gear series in one shot, with the first 6 volumes as omnibuses, and the rest as single volumes. Viz Media ends Kannazuki no MIki with the release of volume 2 while it starts a new one with the new rescue Judas. Yen Press has new chapters of Black Butler and Case File of Vanitas as well as new volumes of Saki and Black Detective.

And that’s not even half the list! Fairy Tail Mistral Volume 2, Say I Love You Volume 12, Seven Deadly Sins Volume 12, and Persona 4 Volume 2 are all must haves for me. What are your must haves this week?
