Manga Village Re-Launches!

March 1, 2011

As Manga Village moves into its fourth year, we decided it was time the site got a new look!

We’ve updated the site to make new posts more prominent and make it easier for you, our faithful readers, to interact with us. It’s easy to leave comments now, with no need to register. Or if you prefer, you can just click the “Like” button, so our villagers know how you feel even if you’re in a hurry! We’ve added more social media buttons to make sharing on your favorite site easy, and yes, we do have a twitter feed! You can keep up with our posts there or through our RSS feed.

You’ll also notice a change in the URL: You can find us now at: www.mangavillage.co.uk. We’re sticking to our roots even as we grow new branches. Some of those new branches will include more round tables and new columns from our villagers. So keep watching for those!

To help get the new site off to a roaring start, we’re going to give away first editions of Black Jack volumes 1-3 to one lucky winner. Just leave a comment on this post about what you think about the new site and/or what you would like to see more of at Manga Village. The cut off date for entries will be March 15, 2011, with the winner announced on March 17, St. Patrick’s Day.

I enjoy the new outlook! Most of all, I love the reviews- theyre well-written and helpful! Thanks for being an avid reader and reviewer and so involved in comics community!

I love the color scheme, and the overall navigation of the site is very clear. Well done!

My only recommendation: I’d like the Reviews page to more clearly mark which titles are BL/yaoi and otherwise categorized.

We’re working on it! We will be importing all of our reviews from the old site to here. That’s just going to take a little while. But yes, I too want to differentiate the BL reviews. Possibly give them their own page for fans to go straight to.

I think it’s great that you had enough wonderful content at Comics Village to be able to split off into your own site. Now its even easier to find your manga news and reviews!

The new site looks great! It’s cool you got your own site for just manga. As for what I would like to see more of… I always like to read things like the manga moveable feast that are discussion rather than reviews (though I do like reviews).

Well, you’re in luck! We’re looking to do roundtables for the Manga Movable Feasts! Look forward to some great discussions!

I’d like to see some manga industry commentary from the group!
